The WYN Behind It: CdA Evo

Evolution Never Stops.

At WYN republic, we’ve never believed that a product is finished simply because it works.

Our athletes keep getting faster. They change positions, push more power, race in different conditions and ask more from their equipment. Every race gives us something new to learn.

So when the CdA became a proven race suit at the highest level of the sport, we didn’t see a finished product.

We saw the starting point for what could come next.

That is the WYN behind CdA Evo.

Why Evolve Something That Already Works?

The previous CdA had been raced on the biggest stages in triathlon. But performance development is rarely about finding one enormous breakthrough.

It’s about asking better questions.

Could we reduce drag further?
Could we remove unnecessary weight?
Could we improve airflow across the body?
Could the suit feel less restrictive after hours of racing?
Could storage work better from the aero position?
Could we make something faster without sacrificing cooling, movement or functionality?

Those questions became the foundation of CdA Evo.

For nearly two years, we worked alongside athletes including Hayden Wilde, Kat Matthews, Ashleigh Gentle, Hannah Berry, Trevor Foley and Jamie Riddle, moving between prototypes, athlete feedback, wind-tunnel testing, velodrome sessions and real-world racing.

Test. Race. Learn. Refine.

Then do it again.

Designed Around the Athlete

A tri suit doesn’t race in a wind tunnel.

An athlete races in it.

That distinction shaped the entire development of CdA Evo.

Fabric placement, surface texture, fit, pockets, mobility and construction couldn't be developed independently. Everything had to work together on a moving body through the realities of long-course racing.

Because there's more to being fast than reducing drag.

An athlete still has to swim comfortably. Hold an aero position. Manage heat. Reach nutrition. Move freely. And eventually get off the bike and run.

Wind-tunnel speed only matters if you can use it on race day.

Finding Speed in the Details

Some of the biggest changes to CdA Evo are found in details you might not immediately notice.

The new Warp Speed Fabric uses strategically positioned texture across the thighs to help manage airflow over the body. Instead of assuming smoother is always faster, we engineered the surface around how air actually behaves as it passes over an athlete in the riding position.

The suit became lighter. Micro-mesh zones increased mobility and breathability. Coldblack® technology helps manage heat from solar exposure.

The fit was refined to sit cleanly against the body at speed.

And the storage architecture was reconsidered so race-day nutrition could remain accessible without adding unnecessary bulk to the external silhouette.

Each change might seem small on its own.

Together, they created something very different. Aero. Light. Cool. Functional.

Prove It.

We didn't want CdA Evo to be faster because we said it was faster.

We wanted to measure it.

Development took us to the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub in the UK and the SASI wind tunnel in Adelaide, where the suit was tested across riders, speeds and configurations.

Independent testing measured a 0.005–0.007 m² CdA improvement compared with the previous CdA suit across multiple test speeds.

But the tunnel was only part of the process.

Prototypes continued into racing, where athletes put the suit through the heat, movement, nutrition demands and fatigue that can't be completely recreated in a controlled environment.

During development, CdA Evo accumulated 10+ major international long-distance wins, alongside course records, fastest bike splits and a Kona podium.

The data told us it was faster. Racing told us it worked.

More Than a Tri Suit

CdA Evo was never intended to become a single piece of fast fabric.

The suit and new CdA Evo Calf Sleeves were developed alongside one another as part of a complete aerodynamic race system.

That thinking reflects where our development is heading: looking beyond individual products and considering the athlete as a complete system.

Every surface matters. Every interaction matters. Every detail has to earn its place.

Because when the margins get smaller, the details become bigger.

Evolution Never Stops.

CdA Evo represents where ten years of WYN tri suit development has brought us.

But it isn't the finish line.

There will always be another race. Another athlete with feedback. Another test. Another question worth asking. Another detail we can improve.

That's why we call it Evo. Not because evolution has finished. Because it never does.

CdA Evo. Our fastest tri suit yet.
