Meet Leon Chevalier – WYN republic athlete and professional long distance triathlete based in Bath, UK. Leon has been racing long distance triathlons across the world since 2021. In his first season as a professional, he won Ironman Mallorca and Embrunman, came 3rd at Ironman UK and rose from 420th to 22nd in the PTO World Rankings.
WYN republic: What is your go to pre-race breakfast
Leon: Banana bread and a big mug of black tea
WYN republic: What's your favorite food?
Leon: Pizza!
WYN republic: What is your favorite workout?
Leon: Long unstructured smashfest on the bike in the sunny mountains
WYN republic: What is your favorite book? Podcast? OR song?
Leon: Probably "A Gentleman in Moscow" although I keep going back to the Harry Potters
WYN republic: What’s your favorite training location?
Leon: At home in Bath or Andorra (as of last week)
WYN republic: What year did you start triathlon?
Leon: I think it was 2011
WYN republic: What’s your favorite race you’ve done in your career?
Leon: Alpe d'Huez is always special, especially my 2022 performance
WYN republic: What kind of legacy do you hope to leave in sport?
Leon: Enjoying the balance between professional sport and normal life -- particularly being grateful for the lifestyle it provides
WYN republic: Who or what inspires you?
Leon: Taylor Swift -- she works really hard, keeps working really hard, puts her fans first, and manages to smile all the way through a 3.5 hr long show!
WYN republic: What's your favorite WYN item?
Leon: The Luceo 2.0 bib shorts. Absolute comfort and perfect leg length.
