Recently wore these during an 8 day 960km cycling tour - not every day as I own several Wyn bibs and yes, I washed them between uses. They were so comfy and the side pockets are a brilliant idea for easily grabbing phone, food or gels. I could even put my hands inside the pockets - not that I recommend putting your hands in your pockets while cycling. Buy yourself some. Your butt and shoulders will thank you for it.
The bibs look to be good quality. I have only ridden in them once and did a 60 k ride at easy pace. After about 30 ks I started noticing the shorts, discomfort/ rubbing.
Very disappointing for expensive shorts. I learned early in my cycling to buy quality shorts- you shouldn’t even know you are wearing them!
I will give them a hand wash and another try but unfortunately my first reaction is one of great disappointment.
Kind regards Rick
Comfy fit, protects your bottom, I thought that’s all you needed for a good pair of Bib Shorts... Until I bought the Pannier Bib Shorts. The pockets on them are life-changing. You’d think small items would drop out of the pocket but they are secure! No more digging through my jersey pocket to try and get my electrolyte tablets / gels!
The Pannier Bib Shorts are now compulsory for my every ride. The deep pockets on the legs allow for as much or as little as you would want to stow. My phone now resides in my left pocket, avoiding the circus-like contorsion of trying to reach into a jersey pocket to fish it out. I swear a box of gels could be loaded into these shorts for those epic 6 hour rides prescribed for an ironman prep. I can also stow my trusty Sony RX100 in the right pocket or leave it for the centre pocket in my jersey for balance. With both sides empty, these shorts feel and perform like any ordinary bib. The chamois is as comfortable as they come and the wide straps on the bib do not cut in to my shoulders like some have in the past. They seem to have a slightly shorter cut in the leg than the Velocity, maybe 10-15mm, but barely noticeable. Maybe the best thing about the Pannier's, is now the freedom to drop T Shirt rides anytime I just wanna cruise the coast road or do a surf check. Please may the designers give the nod to the 90's and give us a set in Cammo. \w/
